Unit Representatives

Duties and Responsibilities of Environmental Unit Representatives

 

1.      During periodic environmental field inspections/controls, carry out the following in their own unit/location / responsibility area

·         Accompany the Environmental Advisor

·         Work with the Environmental Advisor to eliminate the deficiencies identified in the field controls, make improvements in terms of the environment, complete the actions, ensure communication between the unit and the Environmental Advisor

·         Contact the Unit Manager and other relevant units for the actions to be taken to eliminate the deficiencies identified in the field controls

2.      Work with the Environmental Advisor in the process of following the actions to be taken after taking their own environmental precautions in case of environmental emergencies (chemical spill, leakage, hazardous waste, etc.) in their own unit/location / responsibility area.

3.      Support and contribute to the activities of the unit within the scope of the environmental management system and ensure that the environmental management system is implemented.

4.      Support the Unit Manager in ensuring intra-unit coordination for the organization of events such as legally compulsory training, spill drill, etc. to be organized. Inform the unit personnel about the actions and organizing their participation.

5.      Ensure coordination between the unit employees and the unit dealing with waste management of the University in the process of removing the waste of the unit.

6.       Participate in the training to be held on Sabancı University environmental procedures and instructions to be published, and work with the Environmental Advisor to implement these procedures and instructions in their own units.
